Another year, tick tock… The hand of time. June 7th was my birthday.

How old am I? I’m timeless.

Don’t reduce me to a number… I am all the things I’ve done and they are countless.

Another marvelous year. Full. Blessed. A year spent in the most magical home. I’ve lived in a Sanctuary immersed in nature.. and inspiration.

I have built with my own hands. I have Built a home . I have made music . Released songs.

I am very proud of this last work and grateful for the help of incredibly talented artists, friends, family and lover. Grateful for the support of all the amazing artists I have collaborated with through the years… your support is priceless!
And thanks to the new ones that are part of Pacific High

And now… I jump into the next chapter. Exciting changes again. New music ahead. Performances. And … Remixes from pacific High!
Please stay tuned! Check in to see what’s new and keep on listening and sharing what I have done. It’s challenging to do this independently, but filled with rewards and freedom. And of freedom I can never have enough of.

Soundscapes of a journey

I remember every moment of the journey, every sound , every colour, every emotion… The wind resonating through the mast of the sailboat in some remote anchorage… the relentless swell while trying to cook a meal… The long talks discovering each other and our improvised happy hours on deck… The star lit sky in some island where the only road is a mile long and if you look across that road from the beautiful lagoon, on the other side there’s an open ocean…. Cause there is nothing but water… And a village of fishermen to which a small ship full of groceries and clothes feels like Christmas every week… It fills up their only overpriced little store with things I’m not sure they need … And I remember my mother calling on Skype … In the middle of the sunniest day… The weakest most expensive internet…but there is internet even here, in the middle of this bay coming from that little shop…. And a few tourists that payed a fortune for this Paradise… While it took us months … Hundreds of people flew above us , they were sipping cold drinks looking at the vast blue ocean, unaware there is a lot of us down here … Pirates, gipsies, sirens…. We earned those sunsets and sunrises one mile at a time….

I remember exchanging a sip of rum for black pearls and pamplemousse…

I remember making friends with all those sea gipsies … I remember singing on a sailing vessel with a woman playing a Celtic harp with which she had sailed thousands of miles…her treasure through laughter and tears…. Till now , while people from each corner of the world gather around with their small dinghies and their childlike eyes in the middle of the night…to hear us sing and play and toast to life…

I remember it all too well…and it happened … And it left me high … Pacific High

‘Cause that is what I do

I have lived on a sail boat for over three years sailing some 11000 miles through the Pacific Ocean… I had the chance of a lifetime… and I took it! During those days I learned a lot … I met the most wonderful, free thinking people and…… I wrote songs. ‘Cause that is what I do.

Songs are my therapy.. and they are my safe place. A place I often needed in life and… out there in the open Ocean! I crossed thousands of miles sometimes not seeing land for days .. From Mexico to French Polynesia it took three weeks!… nothing but water for three weeks!

When you are far from what has been your reality and you face new challenges you transform and you grow. Sink or swim.

In the South Pacific Ocean I have seen and I have tasted heaven and I have seen and felt hell …

Here is one of the things I have learned during an experience that changed me forever and will influence my life forevermore. During a bad storm that lasted 36 hours, Mike ( my lover, companion and Captain) and I, had to step up and save each other’s life . Picture me thousands of miles from land, our 45 foot sail boat and a VERY ANGRY OCEAN.
From my journal:

When you find yourself in a storm and you have nothing but your hands to steer the helm and your will to live, you learn fear does not serve you. When you accept you are a tiny dot in a Ocean, vulnerable and fragile, your life could very well end and you coud be swallowed by massive and dark waves … simply disappear leaving no trace… when conquering mounatins (of water) seems an impossible task… you finally surrender ,face it and realize … YOU JUST NEED TO STEER THE DAMN BOAT.
